Irregular verbs - How to practise it with TOGlic activities

Which activity from web TOGlic.com use to practice irregular verbs in English? I got an interesting assignment from one of our users. I tried to think of several tasks that could liven your English lessons up - and I have used 4 different activities on TOGlic (Word bingo, Crossword, Word games PLUS and Words and sentences). I'll be glad if you write me your opinions on the prepared activities (in comments bellow) or give us your own ideas!

1) Activity  Crossword

a) set Irregular verbs (past simple)

Here you can see (and try) crossword where the pupils have to fill in the past tense of listed irregular verbs. You can prepare legend (questions) in English or you can use the infinitive in your mother tongue.

Try other ways how to use this crossword:

b) set Irregular verbs (past participle)

The pupils fill the past participle form of listed verbs to the crossword. The base form and past simple form viwed in legend (questions) help them to consolidate their knowledges.

2) Activity  Words bingo

The pupils are trying to find the right answer in the game BINGO. I prepared 2 sets of irregular verbs - every set contains 32 questions and answers. You can play the game repeatedly and practise another verbs.

You can display prepared sets to run an instant test. (Registration/log-in is necessary, it´s free.)

Displayed sets could be distributed to pupils immediately - and the game starts :-) Read also the methodological sheet to this activity.

3) Activity Word games PLUS

I prepared a set of 16 letters that your pupils will use to create as much as possible irregular verbs (in base form).

This word game you can:

The set also contains a list of verbs that it is possible to assemble from a set of letters (there are over 40 of them, but it is likely that I missed some verbs). It will help you to quickly check the correctness of the pupils' responses - words marked with checkmark are correct, you must focus only on the verbs without a checkmark.

By clicking at the function Select and use data you can select some verbs and transfers them to the next activity – Words and sentences. (The best way is to choose the less frequented words that the majority of your pupils failed to recall – you make sure by that that the class will practise and remember them.) Once again, dispatch the activity to the pupil devices. Each pupil has a single verb now and must say all three forms of it (or e.g. use it in a sentence).

(You can read more about the activity Word games PLUS in our methodological sheet "How many irregular verbs...")

4) Activity Words and sentences

Try also the prepared set of the 21 sentences in which it is necessary to supplement the verb (in parentheses) in the correct form (simple past or past participle). All used verbs are irregular. Distribute sentences to pupil devices (one whole sentence with mixed words to each pupil device). Pupils combine sentences using the words and invents what the verb form should they use. Then they write the completed sentences into the exercisebook. You can send ativity repeatedly, pupils receive a randomly selected new sentence.

If you want to speed up the exercise, don´t divide the sentence into words - pupils receive a random sentence (in one piece) and simply complete the appropriate form of the verb and write it in the exercisebook.

Both of these prepared sets you can display and use immediately: (Registration/log-in is necessary, it´s free.)

TIP: All prepared sets you can edit (e.g. change some verbs).  Changed set you can use in the "My lessons" and save here.

NOTE: All sets relied on pre-intermediate level. I apologies if you find errors. I'm not an English teacher. I just want to show you possibillities of some TOGlic activities and how to use them. Thanks for your feedback.
